Hammerfest 13 Takes On Its New Venue – With a Bang!

2021 sees Hammerfest 13 arrive in Birmingham with a new production and a new feel to go with the new destination. A 2 day, 3 arena affair with over 40 bands performing over the 2 days at the 02 Academy.

We have some of the biggest names in metal, with dozens of bands already confirmed with more to follow. Check out some of the incredible acts we’ve secured for the best Hammerfest yet…

Following the release of their killer new album "Killection", Hammerfest is proud to announce main stage headliners..... Lordi. Famed for their triumph at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, The Finnish rock gods are set to bring their brilliant world-renowned horror metal rock show to Birmingham in February 2021. Get ready for The Arockalypse and witness a blistering set as the band Get Heavy, give you a Deadache and maybe even perform a Sexorcism!

Truly legendary Swedish death-metallers UNLEASHED have been pioneers of the scene for 3 decades having formed in 1989. Now on their 13th full-length studio album, the 4-piece fully justify their place as one of the ‘big four’ of Swedish death metal, and headline the main stage on Sunday to bring Hammerfest 13 to a triumphant close.

Describing themselves as a ’12 legged, beer-fuelled hate machine’, the 6-piece Raging Speedhorn are no strangers to the HRH setup – having re-arranged our senses at HRH Metal in 2017 and HRH Roadtrip last year. The lads from Corby began life as a band back in 1998, and bring their new line-up to Birmingham in February 2021.

It’s with great pleasure Hammerfest can announce that we will also be joined on the main stage by true rock icon Official Blaze Bayley - performing a special homecoming Iron Maiden 25th Anniversary setlist. Blaze has been rocking stages worldwide for over 35 years and will be sure to tear the roof off the Birmingham academy.

Hot on the heels of their brand new LP ‘Everybody's Going To Die’, We are honoured to bring a whole new sermon to Birmingham from the incredible Church of the Cosmic Skull. If you were part of the congregation at HRH Doom Vs Stoner or if you've been fortunate to witness the band testify before, you'll know you're in for something special.

Our stage 2 headliners for Sunday are the incredible live act Reign of Fury - the Brit thrash metallers combine punk and metal influences to great effect and have built up a huge following of loyal fans. Their latest release, ‘Exorcise Reality’ was recently remastered by Judas Priest axeman Andy Sneap and hits the streets soon!

Ashen Crown headline the third stage on Saturday at Hammerfest 13. The 5-piece from the British midlands have a unique brand of dark brutal metal, as evidenced on their latest album ‘Obsolescence’ which was released at the tail end of 2019.

Full line up includes: Lordi / Unleashed / Raging Speedhorn / Forever Still / All Hail The Yeti / Blaze Bayley / Church Of The Cosmic Skull / Absolva / Evil Masquerade / Cathudoua / Solitary / DEF CON ONE / Reign Of Fury / Ashen Crown / IzenGard / Eyes Of The Raven / Titan Breed / Bangover / Internal Conflict / A Night In The Abyss / Those Once Loyal / Black Coast / Empusa / Callous Hands / Master's Call / Tableau Mort / Godeater / Solarshift / Borders / Chapfallen

Early bird standard weekend passes start from an incredible £30 per person whereas Royalty with upstairs seated balcony & private bar are priced at £50 per person. There are various Hammer Hotel packages available starting from just £99 per person including 2 nights B&B accommodation and weekend ticket. These killer rates can be booked online @ www.hammerfest.co.uk or at the box office @ HRH Metal or by calling Holly on 0207 193 1845.

Mike Overend lordi

Really hope we can afford to go to see this one!

So what exactly distinguishes this as Hammerfest rather than HRH Metal?

With this on at Birmingham is HRH metal going to stop? It's basically a less good version of Hammerfest now 😕

I hope HRH stays at a park.

I went to the first ever one and it was great

I just hope the organisers see all the posts and comments from loyal Hammerfest goers and move Hammerfest back to a holiday park for 2022. Going to lose a lot of people who have been going for years. Whether it’s back in Prestatyn, Pwllheli, Great Yarmouth or anywhere else in the UK, without a holiday park, Hammerfest just isn’t Hammerfest

Hard pass. On site accomodation with your mates is the main reason to go. A hotel just isn't the same.

bad move

I really hope Chic reconsider this move based on these comments. The whole appeal of Hammerfest was that it was still based on a holiday park. You still got the "festival" feel but without freezing your butt off in a tent in March. It was also perfect for those with limited mobility and disabilities. I do enjoy their other events like HRH Viking but this was special. We're even making the trip all the way from Mcr to Great Yarmouth to still attend this years. After coming to Hammerfest since 2015, 2020 might be the last yr 😔😔

Can you get the 1 skull hotel with the royalty pass? How would I do that?

I am really confused now because I read all the comments after Hard Rock Hell in Great Yarmouth. I thought this move was great news when I heard it, as it was a popular suggestion back then.

What a way to ruin the whole thing 🙁 Hammerfest was all about the party atmosphere in the holiday park. The "change of culture" and the "sound and vision policy" are just fancy words to mask the end of the fun.

Pardon?

🤔

13 of?

Probably something to do with next years theme

Looks like they're moving away from the holiday park event layouts.
