Rob Bell : The Holy Shift Tour

Latest Festival Flyer update from Greenbelt

This July, Rob Bell returns for his first UK tour in eight years. Blending his usual mix of philosophy, comedy, theology and subversive insight, The Holy Shift Tour explores this ancient, complex, subtle, mysterious word HOLY and what it looks like for us to reclaim this word in all its hidden depth to help us make sense of the modern world. Doors open at 7.15 with the show starting at 8pm.

Greenbelt Festival

With most of us unable to travel to sample different cultures and cuisines this summer, we wanted to bring a taste of Palestine to you. So, as you plan your meals for next week, build in a Palestinian night on Thursday 16th July as Phoebe Rison joins us at 7pm to cook up a storm.

Find full event details and a list of ingredients, should you want to cook-along, here: www.amostrust.org/palestine-on-a-plate

Chris Rose, from our friends at Amos Trust, will be in conversation with Phoebe as she cooks, reminding us all that food is as political as it is cultural. The conversation and the food will hopefully remind us all to renew our commitment to fight for a just peace and equal rights for all those who call Palestine-Israel their home.

Today we’re extremely proud to share with you our brand new podcast, #SomewhereToBelieveIn. In our first episode, hosts Katherine and Paul dig into the topic of empathy with philosopher and friend of Greenbelt Festival Roman Krznaric.

We discuss why trying to understand how others see the world could have revolutionary power, and why now, more than ever, empathy is so important. Katherine and Paul also give you some behind the scenes insight into working at Greenbelt and the difficult but necessary decision to cancel this year’s festival.

Listen on all good podcast platforms, including: Apple podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Deezer, Acast, Stitcher, YouTube and many more

Thanks to The Reading Agency, we’re excited to share books that are truly out of the ordinary. Stories for Kids Who Dare To Be Different grew out of Stories for Boys Who Dare To Be Different (winner of the Children’s Book of the Year at the National Book Awards 2018 and The Sunday Times Number 1 bestseller).

Celebrating inspirational and amazing boys and girls who stood up and out and had the courage to be themselves, the book is beautifully illustrated and comes with a digital resource pack – with activities, audio, and sample pages from the upcoming Stories for Boys who Dare to be Different Journal.

With talk of Israel’s Annexation of the West Bank weighing heavily in the air, we wanted to remind ourselves of the beautiful resistance and the historic and proud identity of the Palestinians once more. And what better way to do that than through the distinctive and wonderful food Palestine is known for.

With most of us unable to travel to sample different cultures and cuisines this summer, we wanted to bring a taste of Palestine to you. So, as you plan your meals for next week, build in a Palestinian night on Thursday 16th July as Phoebe Rison (The Olive Tree Kitchen) joins us at 7pm to cook up a storm.

We’ll share the dishes and the ingredients you’ll need this weekend and then the idea is that you join us at 7pm on Thursday July 16th to cook along with Phoebe to create your own taste of Palestine just where you are.

On the menu will be:
- Loaded Labaneh
- Summer Kofta
- Salata Arabia
- Shatta Sauce
- All served with pickles, olives, warm pita bread and chilled white wine

And if this sounds overwhelming, worry not. Phoebe has designed this menu to be quick and easy to prepare – perfect for a summer’s evening.

Chris Rose, from our friends at Amos Trust, will be in conversation with Phoebe as she cooks, reminding us all that food is as political as it is cultural.
