Rob Bell : The Holy Shift Tour

Latest Festival Flyer update from Greenbelt

This July, Rob Bell returns for his first UK tour in eight years. Blending his usual mix of philosophy, comedy, theology and subversive insight, The Holy Shift Tour explores this ancient, complex, subtle, mysterious word HOLY and what it looks like for us to reclaim this word in all its hidden depth to help us make sense of the modern world. Doors open at 7.15 with the show starting at 8pm.

We’re cancelling our Woken Spurred show with Harry Baker and Erin Bolens tonight. We and the poets need to stand in solidarity with all those muting their own voices and agendas today so that we can listen harder to all the voices of those whose struggle is for racial justice.

If we share anything today, it will be in an effort to try to amplify the voices of those whose struggle is for racial justice in our community and beyond, and to identify the actions we are committed to taking to listen, to learn, and to better understand – so that we can change and work harder for justice for all.

Thank you GB. Today I’m wobbly. I’m exhausted and full of anger. Today a Christian on a Bible college graduate group thought it was the time for jokes. And I had to go and ask another graduate to step in because I simply don’t have the energy to explain. As ever, you’ve got the words I needed. Thank you x

We really hope you've enjoyed the last five weeks of #GBWildatHome🌱, our daily attempt to bring you a light dusting of festival magic during lockdown.

We’ll be carrying on through June, but with a different rhythm. We'll be alternating our Tuesdays livestreams with two of our favourite performers, Harry Baker and his Woken Spurred and Martyn Joseph’s The Rising – at the later time of 8pm on our Youtube channel. And we’ll keep sharing a timely, relevant talk from our archive each Friday to give you something to ponder over the weekend. We're also excited to partner with The Reading Agency on their brilliant Summer Reading Challenge for kids.

Meanwhile, we’re already hatching a set of brand new plans for July, including the launch of our #SomewhereToBelieveIn pilot podcast series and starting to shape our thoughts for the festival weekend itself. We'll share more about all this in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, here’s what’s coming up this week:

🌱Tue 2 - Harry Baker's Woken Spurred, with special guest Erin Bolens
More moving, uplifting, fearless and funny spoken word as World Slam Poetry champion Harry Baker opens his address book to bring us some of his stellar poet-friends for 40 minutes of words, wit, wisdom and wonder.
Youtube, 8pm

🌱Fri 5 - Black Lives Matter, archive talks by Broderick Greer
We’ll be sharing Broderick Greer’s insistent talks from Greenbelt 2016 and 2018 about Black Lives Matter. His challenge is vital for all of us who care about human rights in the light of the murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd. “If some of us are not free, then none of us are free.”
