Greenbelt Festival

Have you got your Greenbelt tee yet? As well as new designs created with this strange year in mind, we’ve also reprinted some classics that we know you love.

(Plus, it’s buy-one-get-one-tree! For every t-shirt bought this weekend, our suppliers will plant a tree.)

Greenbelt Festival

What better way to move towards the climax of our Canopy programme for Wild at Home than with the blue-blazer-ed Hope&Social. Brimming with energy and mischief and with a trunk-load of banging songs to boot, this community-minded bunch of musicians have been part of the Greenbelt story for more than a decade now – and they never fail to bring the house down. We’re delighted to welcome Hope and Social to bring their unique brand of hope and social to our digital day. We shall not sit still. We shall stand. We shall dance. We shall sing. Because a Hope and Social gig is about everyone.

This week on the podcast Katherine and Paul welcome *takes deep breath* openly-Catholic gay rights campaigner, life-long advocate for inclusion and equality, ex-CEO of Stonewall and recently appointed Baroness of Bethnal Green, Ruth Hunt.

With inclusion, love and acceptance in our minds, we discuss the complex relationship between religion and sexuality and ask each other why the church is STILL so obsessed with who we love? Ruth talks about her own journey in connecting her faith with her advocacy.

Plus, Katherine and Paul talk more about our plans for our #gbwildathome festival weekend and respond to critics who accuse Greenbelt of being an echo-chamber of lovey-dovey ideals.

Greenbelt Festival

To say we’re looking forward to our #GBWildAtHome festival livestreams would be an understatement. But it’s not all about the programme. We’ve reimagined some of your favourite festival community spaces, so even if you can’t meet in the field this summer, you can still connect – albeit digitally – with your Greenbelt friends and communities.

These spaces will only be accessible on Saturday 29th, so we encourage you to make the most of them on the day to get the full(ish) festival experience.

Meet up, grab a drink and chat with your Greenbelt friends in our virtual Jesus Arms. There will also be some scheduled sessions for Greenbelt institutions like Beer and Hymns, the old Plough Folk Club, a Christian Connection social, Tenx9 storytelling and so on.

Drop into The Foundry for facilitated after-show round-table discussions, curated sessions on issues not covered in the main livestream and even some theatre performance.

We'll also be streaming some amazing on-demand films which we’re excited to tell you more about later this week.

Feylyn Lewis you're famous!

Can you give us any idea about content, programming or spaces for children and youth please?

How will we view this? Can I load up on my Amazon stick and watch it on the TV in the lounge or are we restricted to small screens on laptops & phones?

I can't wait......

Renée Poortman Tom Kleywegt Jaap Scheele

Can’t wait!
