Latest Festival Flyer update from Greenbelt

Broderick Greer first came to Greenbelt in 2016 and it was love at first sight. Since that time, he has taken up a new post as Canon Precentor at Saint John’s Cathedral in Denver, Colorado. There, he continues to mesh his official church role with his broader, deeper, long-standing concerns for history, black and queer theology, and racial justice ( #BLM). And in connection with these concerns, his writing has appeared in The Guardian, Teen Vogue, NBC News, On Being, and The Washington Post. Hear him at #gb18 #actsoftheimagination 💭💡🌱m̶e̶.y̶o̶u̶.us

We’re sad to learn of the death of James Holloway, one of Greenbelt Festivals founding visionaries. James died peacefully this morning, two-and-half weeks after suffering an aneurysm, surrounded by his family. We’ll pay fuller tribute in due course. But for now, thank you James. #RIP #Presente!

Was just watching the GB at 40 DVD yesterday and was reminded again of the amazing contribution of James. A sad day 😢.

It all started with All Things New, lead singer James Holloway. RIP

So sorry to hear this, very best love to his family and RIP James, privileged to have met you.

Such a privilege to have had James as a great uncle. Great indeed. ❤️

Sad news. A true legend of Greenbelt. RIP The Fat Band.

Awful news. Greenbelt legend.

A very special man

Very sad news. I remember seeing James at the Greenbelt at 40 movie premiere at Centaur at Cheltenham. 😢

RIP lovely James. Long time neighbour and friend. Much love to all your wonderful family. 💖

Touched so many lives sadly missed xx

Such a legend ♥️ RIP James xx

We owe so much to James for making Green Built what it is - so many memories of those early years. RIP

RIP James a great guy ,great entertainer.

Very sad. It wasn’t Greenbelt unless you’d seen James H. Lovely man xx

Good bye my infuriating, inspirational friend.

I only just heard at the weekend that he was poorly. Was hoping to visit him and so this is indeed very sad news. A real privilege to have known him as friend and fellow Fat Band comrade in arms over some 30+ years. May he rest in peace and rise in glory! Love, respect and sincere condolences to all family & friends 🙏

Top fella. In 1977 we stayed after the festival to help tidy the site and James was in charge. Over many years my band The Famous Potatoes appeared with The Fat Band and loved his big personality. So sorry to hear he's moved on.

Yes RIP James thoughts are with your fantastic family

Sad news. James was inspirational, intelligent, creative and amusing in equal measure. Love to all your wonderful family.

So sad. What a footprint that wonderful man has left on all our hearts.
RIP James

What a fantastic photo of this very special man!

This is the saddest news. James was a larger than life, irreverent, intelligent, creative, inspirational, huge part of my Greenbelt journey.
Go well my friend.
