First Light Festival news: A Man Called Adam – First Light Festival

Latest update from First Light Festival

We are thrilled to announce that A Man Called Adam will be joining us at First Light Festival on Saturday 22nd June!

As Gilles Peterson’s in-house band at his original Wah Wah Acid Jazz night, A Man Called Adam pioneered Acid Jazz before going on to spearhead the UK House/nu disco scenes of the ‘90s. Their hit, Barefoot In The Head, kick started Balearic House and they are the only act to be on every single Cafe Del Mar LP.

Dance floor pedigree with full beachside credentials! Listen to them on the Sunlight Stage as you soak up the sun from 2.15pm – 3pm…

A Man Called Adam – First Light Festival

First Light Festival is a brand new FREE 24-hour multi-arts festival for the UK from midday on Saturday the 22nd of June, through to midday on Sunday the 23rd, celebrating Lowestoft as our most easterly town, where the first sunrise reaches the horizon every morning.

We are so very grateful for the support we’ve received from our partners, colleagues, funders and most importantly, the Lowestoft community, over the course of the last two years creating First Light and making our first year such a brilliant success.

We’re heartbroken to have to cancel this year’s festival, and aware of the impact that this global situation will have on all the talented performers, artists, makers and crew that were due to take part, but we’re still working as First Light CIC to plan a programme of work later this year which will feed into next year’s festival.

At the moment, the world feels like we’re in limbo; stuck in the darkness between dusk and dawn, but there’s good news - the sun always rises.

We know we’ll all come together again on the beach, and until then let’s all focus on doing what we can in our communities; looking after our people and our planet, until that pink glow starts to appear over the horizon once again.

That’s such a shame 😪

Well said we will b there xx

That's crap Lizzie, be back next year 💪

After last year was looking forward to coming up again from Colchester for the weekend. But as always after a festival. They say next year WILL BE BIGGER AND BETTER. ❤️❤️

How sad I know how much hard work has already gone into this but you have done the right thing and yes let's hope the sun shines for a fantastic festival next year we will be there best wishes to everyone keep safe

Bigger and better if that’s possible for next year, loved being involved last year, such a shame but under the current circumstances, inevitable.

Donna Dean

We’re all in this together. Love to you all - another sad loss to covid-19.

Thank you lovely FirstLight team. 2021 will be awesome.

So sorry - such a great festival - we in Dorothy's Shoes loved performing with you last year and hope to be back in Lowestoft in 2021 💚

The Rabble Chirus will return!

It's the festival not the sunrise which is cancelled, roll on First Light Festival 2021!

So sorry you’ve had to cancel, your Festival was so popular and well loved last year, look forward to joining you all on the beach again soon!

First Light will rise again 🌅❤
