Everyone at No.6 was devastated to hear today's sad news about Andrew Weatherall. DJ, producer, musician and bastion of the underground, he was a true pioneer and a hugely inspirational figure, as well as being one of the most fascinating, humorous and generous artists you could wish to meet.
Andrew was involved in No.6 from the start and appeared in various guises over the years, wearing many different hats. Some of the many treasured Weatherall highlights from No.6 include reading short stories in the Tangled Woods, a five-hour A Love From Outer Space session on the Stone Boat, an incredible back2back set with justin robertson in the Castell Gardens, and curating and hosting his own stage, Andrew Weatherall’s Psychedelic Faber Social.
Thank you for everything Andrew. Be Seeing You x ...
One of my best moments in life was his Sunday set at the beach at the last no.6. What a legend! RIP
Very sad news. One of the biggest influencers on me as a DJ and one the best interviewees on my KISS show back in the day where he gave both me and the listeners a real musical education on the 'Defining musical moment' slot. I also booked him for my club nights in Manchester and had the honour of doing the warm up for him on a few occasions, each time he was utterly brilliant and it was an utter thrill to play with him. He was utterly engaging, and a proper geezar and actually very generous to me as a young kid inviting me to his studio to hang out. As a really young man making my way in the industry, it used to fill me with pride that when I saw him at a festival or at a record shop and he'd smile and go "alright Matt" - I mean this guy produced Screamdelica and he's acknowledging me! My favourite of all the original House and Baleric DJ's. He's the greatest for me out of all the UK pioneers as he was the DJ who could put an eclectic set of tunes together and make it make total and utter sense. And,... he never sold out. The best of his generation. Even now not being part of the scene if I want to put a set on at home, he's the first guy I think of sticking on. An absolute innovator and one of a kind. An army of dance lovers and aficionados will be in mourning tonight. You will be missed Andrew. RIP fella, thanks for the good times. They really were the best of times.
The Stone Boat set was a highlight of an otherwise horribly eventful festival.

The B2B set with Justin Robertson is still one of my favourite nights ever... thanks for the music ❤️
Dominic we were at that b2b set! 😪
Oh no! 😔
Always been on the list but somehow I've never seen him play. Unless I've forgotten Shane Mckenna Ian Davies ??
We're delighted to announce that we've been nominated for Best Medium Festival in the UK Festival Awards. If you agree please spare a moment to vote, it only takes a few minutes bit.ly/voteFN6 ...
I’ll vote right up until 11pm and then I’m pulling the plug. But I’ll continue to think about voting whilst playing records in my room really loudly until 3am. How does that sound? #thethe

Best festy I ever went to in 2015 (or maybe it was 2016)... & I was at the 1st Glastonbury & Isle of Wight ones! But it wasn't for the music (I'd only heard of 2 of the headliners: Grace Jones & Morrisey) but for the setting & atmosphere. Highlights for me were the poet Mike Garry, the interview with the late Howard Marks & the screening premier of Under Milkwood. However my memories are twinged with anger as my smartphone (with all the fabulous photos I'd taken) was stolen & 3 of my tyres were vandalised with nails while parked - which cost me an additional total of £450! 🙁
Run it for a whole week, headliners Fri, Sat & Sun. Give everyone time to mooch around the village and woods without running off to see acts 😊
It was perfect, let’s do it again
