Introducing the #Sundaynightsocial! We know there’s lots of people who’ve made new and lasting friendships at Farmer Phil’s Festival. Some have even gone on to marry someone they first met at our happy little festival!

We thought it might be fun to hear some of your stories about the social aspect of Farmer Phil’s Festival how it has made your trip(s) to Ratlinghope all the more memorable…

  1. I’ve been to Farmer Phils a few times but this year I met my now boyfriend Steve on the final night! I had absolutely no intentions on finding a boyfriend anytime soon let alone at Farmer Phils this summer!

  2. Me and Phil Johnson.. i had the best year ever at fp…especially with naughty nanny binty

  3. In 2011 I went to my first Farmer Phil’s with friends, another friend of theirs, Simon, came along too and we had a great time, lots of dancing and laughs…we all loved it! A few days after, Simon and I went on our first date and since then we have been to farmer Phil’s religiously every year. In 2015 we got married! We met some great people at Phil’s in 2014, Wayne, Sian, Roy and also Tabbi and Matt in 2015. Since then we have all got together several times a year, they came to our wedding and are among our best friends now! We’ve met so many great people over the years and we will continue to make our annual pilgrimage to Ratlinghope every August for our favourite festival ❤

  4. We usually go as a bunch of mates, draw the vans and tents into a circle around the fire and stocked up with party juice, way to go! Plenty of fancy dress stuff and daftness a plenty! We see people we only see once a year but greet each other like long lost friends. The banter and the craic are legendary and we wouldn’t miss it for the world. I’ve been going to Farmer Phils for a good few years now, first one was 2012 with a few friends and family, met some people I will probably stay in touch with for life Bizzle 😁 then has a gap due to a relationship and went back in 2016, met more friends that again will stay friends for a long time, then 2017 hit, all I can say is the pink flamingo’s singles night (Ivor & Rachel) and at 2018’s farmer phil’s we came as a couple with a bun in the oven with Julie 😍😍😍

  6. Julie Hayes says:

Myself and my daughter, Victoria, first came to Farmer Phil’s in 2013 to our FIRST FESTIVAL EVER! And we’ve been coming ever since! Along the way, my other children, Lucas and Bub’s have joined us, as well as ‘The Mother’, Cath. Friends from home come, Marlena, Adam, Kate, Lisa Lily Fraser and loads more! And I’m still friends with the people I met in 2013, Carlton, Gillian and Mike! Last year, due to Ivor and Rachel and the singles night at the Pink Flamingo and our mutual love for Space, Kev and I got together and this year, we came with a ‘bun in the oven’. 2019, our ‘bun’, Niamh, will be joining us! Thank you everybody at Farmer Phil’s Festival for being a massive part our lives! ❤❤❤❤
