Latest Festival Flyer update from Deer Shed

ADVENT CALENDAR DAY 8

Introducing our #DeerShed10 theme: #GENERATIONXYZ.

If you have kids, you probably belong to Generation X. If you’re a kid yourself, the chances are you fall into Generation Z. If you’re in-between, well, you can probably work that one out on your own (hint: you’re Y).

For our tenth birthday party, Deer Shed invites you and your family to a huge celebration of every generation that visits the festival’s most loved weird and wonderful trends.

That means parents can take the chance to improve their pitiful Fortnite skills in the science tent, while the kids learn about the ancient (ahem!) wonders of the humble Rubik’s cube.

In a world of growing division, this is our way of increasing understanding between the generations, and we’ll of course take the chance to celebrate all the lovely things we keep in common too.

Join us in July for the biggest birthday bash Baldersby Park has ever seen. We might even let you resurrect your favourite 1980s outfit for the occasion…

Enough minding the generation gap: it’s time we all united to form GENERATION XYZ!

Love a wander round Brimham Rocks, they are stunning formations, and the views up there amazing. I could happily sit on the air sofa watching crazy people climb the rocks...

I love a walk upto the white horse at Kilburn 😍 xx

A close call between Deer Shed and Appletreewick

Sitting at Deershed watching the first act on a Friday night and eating the Thali from Gandhi’s Flip Flop.

Skipton woods is a magical place at anytime of the year

Anywhere along the North Yorkshire coastline 🌊

That’s not fair picking one place! But on the list would be Museum Gardens in York with these two monkeys 🐒

After the main stage at Deershed my favourite place of chill is with a cup of tea on Filey long Beach with my daughter and her cousins all in wetsuits safely bodyboarding in 2 foot of water like they’re on Bondi Beach!

On top of Sutton Brow overlooking Lake Gormire & Hood Hill

Can’t beat a bit of Swaledale!

Lots to choose from, but probably Otley Chevin

Spern point is very beautiful and tranquil 💝💝💝💝

Sat on the bench, on a sunny day, outside the Craven Arms in Appletreewick, pint in hand (and headphones on to block out the noise of the kids complaining about the lack of a 4G signal)

Knaresborough castle, overlooking the viaduct 😊

Outside the New Inn at Appletreewick sat watching the sun go down over the Wharfe 🌄

Anywhere in Yorkshire really, but my favourite place has to be York 🤞

There are so many places in Yorkshire that are amazing, it’s impossible to choose so our most recent favourite place to chill is the Santa train leaving from Grosmont... an hour and a half of pootling through the hills and streams of the North Yorkshire Moors. I could’ve sat there all week! 😍

Arnscliffe Crags, Otley Chevin, Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey - too many to mention. Its what makes Yorkshire great tha'knows.

Favourite place in Yorkshire, after my home city of York, it would have a close call between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.... But for the sheer exhilaration of fossil hunting and rock pooling with little people, I'll go with RHB. 😀

My back garden with my family

Other than the main stage at Deershed drinking the amazing gin that was on sale last year, anywhere overlooking the North York Moors Railway with my steam train obsessed boy!

Ooo ooh ooh... two of us Lancs-born here (even though I’m Scottish but I digress) and we love to kick back at Baldersby Park in July each year.

Other than on the main stage field? Scarborough beach before anyone else arrives - get there for breakfast, have a play on the sand and be home as everyone else wakes up. 🤩

Druid's temple is a firm favourite with us even though we only go there after a visit to the forbidden corner (another favourite).

Easy the above address from 26-28th July however you can’t really beat any spot in Yorkshire, I was lucky enough to live and work there for ten years and made some life long friendships
