Latest update from Coastal Currents

WEEK 3 already?
We are keeping up the momentum this year with loads more to see…

Firstly thanks to everyone who opened a studio these past two weekends, they help light up the area and even the TV and Radio reporters have commented on the buzz around town. Matthew Wright from the Wright Stuff was visiting the first weekend of Open Studios and BBC radio journalist Jeni Barnett talked of how the town is surprisingly full of art and culture!

So Thursday/Friday and Saturday we have an incredible event at St Mary in the Castle. RAY LEE brings SIREN to the auditorium.
He describes it as a shimmering moving sound world. Huge tripods will fill the space and sing together in a combined chord which builds and resonates whilst performers move about the space perfecting the siren. Don’t miss this as only 80 capacity per event so you can roam the space freely.

Downstairs there is a light exhibition by FIONA GRADY in the crypt at St Mary in the Castle until the end of the Festival.
Fragile and delicate set against the stone walls.

RIZ MASLEN is performing at Borough Wines on Saturday evening and will transform the space with an installation Sat from 12.30pm until late Sunday. So go visit.

LOUISE ASHCROFT will be interacting with passengers on the Hastings to St Leonards Southeastern Trains over the weekend. Buy a ticket and go take part. Part sea monster and part regeneration officer, she will no doubt be worth the ticket.

KIMVI NGUYEN will perform on Saturday atop the Warrior Square Toilets at 1pm.

Watch our for GUY BIGLAND’s second piece of his serialised written word artwork in the Hastings Independent out later this week.

CATINCA MALAIMARE presents a body of work at SEED in George Street

Plus ELPIDA HADZI-VASILEVA’s piece is still available to see at the Shipwreck Museum until the end of the Festival

Walk, ride, skate or just chill on the beach and enjoy WaveLength by ZEROH
