COVID COMMISSION 10a – LOCAL BLACK HISTORY AND CULTURAL RESEARCH
This lovely engaging commission attracted no applicants so we thought we would give it as much time as we can for some entries to be sent in.
Do you have a question about a piece of local black history you would like to find out more about? Please don’t be shy! We’d love to hear from you and trusted white ally Becky Beasly is available to support you. It is a amazing chance and new stories need telling. Do share with your friends. Or tell us if we really didn’t hit the mark and we will re-think.
As part of our wider set of COVID Commissions, Coastal Currents and Becky Beasley are partnering on a set of commissions for black residents and creatives in the south-east. We have 2 commissions of £100 each for Black and Ethnic artists and creatives.
Selected artists will have the chance to develop LOCAL BLACK HISTORY & CULTURE RESEARCH with mentoring (as required) from a local, diverse network facilitated by artist Becky Beasley.
Each selected artist will also get a virtual presentation of their commissioned work, free promotion through the Coastal Current’s website and social media, and the chance to feature in live streams on Facebook socials.
