Coastal Currents news: Coastal Currents artists Live Stream
Latest update from Coastal Currents
Hello Sussex and Beyond! Join us this Saturday for a double bill of amazing women showing you their creative spaces and skills.
This week at 3pm tune in to see Felicity Truscott. Felicity is a known face of Coastal Currents with her woven creations.
Felicity says,"In my art practice I work with exploration, relationship and transformation.
I will be talking about how my practice has changed over the last few years, what I have set fire to and why on earth I studied basketry for 2 years: I'll be showing you some of the tools I use for this. There will be a bit on what projects I am working on now including stone weaving and if all goes to plan, a demonstration of how to weave around a stone."
Its always a pleasure to see artists work especially when they are as talented as Felicity.
Then at 4pm make sure you have something sweet to nibble on because Katja is going to make you hungry!
Having gained a Visual Arts Degree at Camberwell school of Art, Katja undertook a 3 year
apprenticeship at The Cupcake Cafe, New York. Under the watchful eye of Ann Warren, working alongside fine artists and patisserie chefs she created cakes for special events, celebrities and the discerning of Manhattan.
22 years on Katja has learnt to bake and is proud to have achieved a Gold Star at the Great Taste Awards as well as a Northwest Fine Foods 'Heart of Excellence' Award. Now residing in the wonderfully creative community of Britannia Yard in Hastings, she
continues to produce culinary delights and is finishing her MA in Textile Design.
