Camp Bestival

Weโ€™re considering opening a separate campsite at Camp Bestival 2020 on the Sunday before the festival begins. The campsite would have its own facilities, communal cooking areas, plenty camping options (inc. accessible camping area and pre-pitched structures), food & drink, plus activities for all the family. Youโ€™d also be able to explore the amazing local Dorset area, stock up on supplies and have your camp set up before the festival even opens.

Anyone who has already booked for Camp B 2020 would be able to upgrade to add on the extra camping and move their tickets to stay in the new campsite. You would also have the opportunity to move to a different campsite for the festival.

Would you be up for 4 more days of camping before Camp Bestival starts? ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿงก

Such a great idea! There's plenty of great places to explore nearby. :)

Amazing idea!! More time to spend with family ๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ‘ง‍๐Ÿ‘ฆ

This is a great idea, being a local, this would help the local economy and manage the traffic better.

Making the festival longer!!! What’s not to like about this, my family would definitely be booking ๐Ÿ‘

Could you do 2 different add on fields, those that want the 4 days before and those who would love the 4 days after. With school holiday dates not everyone could do the 4 days before. This is such a fab idea and great for the local economy to allow people to explore the area

May be, lots to think about love the area. But can imagine roads to get out to visit places will be very busy.

I love this idea. We are local so wouldn’t stay for the extra few days but I can see that it would be a great idea to boost the local economy and reduce the traffic on the Thursday. I think if I were to do it though, I would want to have the option to leave my tent in the same place for the duration of the festival. No one wants the faff of pitching twice!

Camp Bestival , it’s pretty obvious that all festival goers will think this is great . What you need to do is put this to the local parish council who would then have to put it to the local residents . Get there views because they are the ones really affected by this . Not your customers or your profits !

Yes. If we could camp on the accessible field (we are accessible field users) from the start & not need to move then we’d love this. We actually came early this year & stayed elsewhere for a couple of nights. Arriving early & extending our holis wld be awesome xx

It's a wonderful idea. It will benefit lots of campers, and the local community. I've, personally, said no, but only because we've paid for 'front row caravan', plus we're already very local to CB, so wouldn't necessarily want to pack up and move.

If the kids broke up earlier from school we would love this. But unfortunately ours don’t break up till the Wednesday.

I think it would be great if it was after the festival rather than before, otherwise everyone will be knackered before the festival starts imo and some time after to recover on beautiful Dorset beaches would be great ๐Ÿ‘

A great idea for people that have a long way to travel and allows am opportunity to explore the beautiful Purbecks however being local it wouldn't be something we'd book.

No offence, but what would the cost be? All the little addons make the festival absolutely extortionate already! We camp up the road in a lovely campsite - less than 20 quid a night for the four of us.

Sounds brilliant I always wish we explorer Dorset but our tent broke in the 2017 winds at camp bestival and we went boutique and now converted to boutique... Would boutique be there for the early days?

We would love to come but I am always in fear of the awful traffic as everyone arrives on the same day. This would be perfect ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Inconveniencing locals for even longer ๐Ÿ‘. At least you have finally realised that decamping everyone at the same time as Swanage Carnival and various other local events that have been going on far longer than this event is a bad idea.

I would be interested but to move the tent and equipment to accessible would be a struggle

Great idea! Would we able to move into Front Row Campervan on the Wednesday before all the new arrivals on the Thursday?

Definitely! Was excited when you put that as a maybe for this year! Really.l hope this happens. I would like to stay in camping plus for the week though not a new feild x๐Ÿ˜Š

I’d love too change our tickets for this for 2020 but wouldn’t really want to have to move camp ... of be interested to see how far the place your designating for this is from the main festival. Ideally I’d want to be able to come early to the main camping area and get the best pitch perk of turning up so much earlier.

The only problem with that is the school holidays. Most kids break up right before CB and can’t take the time off school. If the whole thing fell in the holidays I think it would have a better take up. x

Sounds like a good idea. Proximity to the actual festival would be an important consideration for me.

Great idea but as others have said schools don’t break up till the week of CB, we’re in Surrey and our school broke up on the Tuesday this year so we couldn’t have come till the Wednesday anyway.

So is the plan to allow people to have their car next to their pitch? If you were able to accommodate this it would be very tempting.
