For the last two years, we have been lucky to meet so many festival goers. So many have an emotional or romantic attachment to a the Cambridge Folk Festival , we absolutely love all their stories and always get moved by them. This is a very special festival! ❤️
No but we did see Passenger busk in the Guinness tent and then officially in The Den! About 3/4 years later he headlined the festival (was there again) and so cool to have Mike back this summer too (yes we’ll be there!) 😁
Oops My now husband says it differently Last people standing after Joan finished We sat on the very damp grass and he proposed
I saw him busk too and had a great chat afterwards. Looking forward to seeing him again. A lovely man
I saved my sister Liz Lucking from drowning when she thought she could walk on water like the ducks do! 🤣 I had to pull her up by her hair and she actually had a go at me for pulling her hair! 😆
We met our platonic lovers Kairsti DoidgeJeni Luke Daniel Ashtonand Simon Angell there of that counts....
Just Absolutely Love CFF ❤️ Along with my husband and two special friends. We will all be with you again this year. Not directly “Our Own Romantic Tale” But the tale of a Scottish lady who’s name I never knew, who we met in a very panicky state, when she was desperately looking for her lost engagement ring💍, her husband had it hand made for her when he proposed and it obviously meant so much. We had already found it and our friend was on his way to lost property, I whisked her off to catch him up only to meet him coming back. With great thanks she went on to be reunited with her very precious engagement ring. The true spirit and love of Cambridge Folk. Debbie
In 2019 on the Sunday of he festival my wonderful partner proposed to me by the duck pond, have been attending the festival on and off for 25years and once again excited to be attending this year!
My husband and I decided to get married whilst watching The Proclaimers perform ‘Let’s get married’. The following year we chose our wedding rings at Cambridge from the amazing Hairy Growler - unique and beautiful. CFF is very much part of our lives - haven’t missed one in 15 years. 💖
I’ve met lots of special people at CFF, especially Rupert Et Rupert who’s wedding I am going to with Simon, Jeni Luke and Kairsti Doidge this weekend. Congratulations, you make a beautiful couple. X
In 2007 the first time I attended Cambridge folk festival my partner Jim proposed as we lay in our tent in the early morning He said “ it’s only right and proper” .... what a romantic I never thought I’d want to be married again Later the same day he bought me a beautiful silver ring with amethyst stones and got down on one knee( in the mud ) to propose again I was madly in love and still am We did eventually get married Joan Baez was amazing
Charlotte Cross 🤔🥰
The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican have only ever played Cambridge Folk Festival once, when we had the honour of headlining the Club Stage last year. We fell in love with it, and we hope that some folk felt the love for us. It would be lovely to return one day. ♥️
CFF is my and my girlfriends ‘guaranteed little break’ just us , each year, and I love every second being with her seeing how much she enjoys it 4 days of that beautiful smile 😍😍
My wife and I bought our wedding rings at Cambridge 2 years ago , then went to show them off on our fingers to the lovely vendor we bought them from last year 😀💕
We love the Cambridge Folk Festival
Picked our wedding rings at Cambridge Folk Festival from Suay Design .... gorgeous rings and people commented during our special day.
My husband and I fell in love at CFF after being life long friends, and got engaged there 2 years later, receiving a shout out from Nick Mulvey on stage 2 months before our wedding last year! It featured heavily in both of our wedding speeches, very special place for us ❤️
I have been 18 times; my better half has come along twice. Not as much into music and festivals as I am, but he loved it and understands why I am so keen to go every year!
Seeing Frank Turner for the first time Amazing Newton Faulkner on Thursday night
I bought the best pair of shorts I've ever owned at the folkie... they traveled the world with me and I wore them when my small person played on stage in the club tent 2 years ago aged 6... heart overflowing moment
Love you Sean Pollard 💙
I had my first kiss at CFF (age 13)
We are chuffed to see so many of your lovely comments for the first 8 names! We have more coming your way in just a few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled!
In the meantime, we're hard at work sorting out everything else that makes Cambridge great, from the Club Tent and The Den to children's activities and talks in the Flower Garden.

What a great shame that we have never seen the tremendous Hannes Wader from Germany at Cambridge? I have been a huge fan of this man since I first discovered his music in 1972...two years later I discovered Cambridge & I’ve been listening to Hannes & going to Cambridge ever since!! But NEVER together at the same time! A REALLY friendly invitation from the best & friendliest folk festival in the planet MIGHT JUST LURE HOM OUT OF RETIREMENT???
5 Hills Out would be amazing, I know they've applied, please give them the chance!
Findlay Napier please.
Just Tom & Pete a Cambridge group
Would be great to see Cambridge formed famous folk band The Willows, playing this year. Last saw them at the festival in 2015 playing to a packed crowd on stage 2, Mark Radcliffe broadcasted Bella's Fury live from their set on his BBC 2 Folk Show. www.thewillowsband.com
Paul Goodwin would be excellent , This guy deserves to be on main stage, and he is a well loved local song writer ,
Sean Taylor would be great to see.
Luke Jackson is a great artist you well worth a look and adding to your list
Would love to see Katie Doherty & the Navigators again. Also Will Varley please😊
Would like to see The Shires...Friday or Saturday,or both days😊
Local bands Max Bianco and the Bluehearts and The Mardlers would both be great additions to the bill.
We’re bringing our foster child. It will be his first festival and he’s really looking forward to it.
Christopher cross please
No festival lineup is complete without Show of Hands well done on securing them this year however my daughter Emily would vote for Frank Turner which I would also support.
really looking forward to it
Bring back The Waifs (last time was 2008 )
Hoping for Seth Lakeman 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Why have MALICORNE never been asked back? They were GREAT in 1974/5 (I forget which?) but since then...NOTHING? Pourquoi pas? C’est fou!!

Not a bad start at all!!! Passenger was fantastic last time, Steve is always a good gig, lankum (lynched) were the nuts... And as for cat Stevens and Susanne Vega...TIP TOP!!!
Cat Stevens, think his set should be boycotted, unless I’ve missed him withdrawing it he supported the fatwa against Salman Rushdie

Wow! Yusuf and Cat Stevens on the same bill... two of my favourite artists!

This is looking like a pretty special lineup already. Thank you 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great start. Suzanne Vega - at last, all time favourite but never seen her live
Fantastic line-up as expected 🙂
For the first time since 1980, I won't be going. The standard of the lineup has steadily declined in recent years, and to be honest, I've just been using it as a way to meet old friends. Now we are looking at cheaper alternatives, with better music. Sadly, the festival has become more and more regimented and less friendly to older people. I hate being alternately told to squeeze in to make more space for people to get inside when its wet and not to obstruct the walkways. Goodbye Cambridge. It once was inspired, now it's just another routine. I'm so afraid the masquerade is over.
Best line up EVER!!!!!!!
Great line up
