Have you booked a treat for your mum yet? Well forget the flowers and bath bombs, and treat her to something a little more indulgent: a vintage afternoon tea in our gorgeous Ballroom. Still a few spaces available, book while you can! https://bit.ly/2FyoPze (πŸ“Έ Paola De Paola Photography)

I love it, however would love it even more if it was ever working. When I was last there the staff were very reluctant to comment as to when it was last working or when it was likely to be up and running in the future. I dare say many people are hugely disappointed on arrival to find the main attraction not working.

Michelle Terry??!! Helen FK πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Best one x

Its never working when ever i visit so wouldnt know

Alan Donner Didn't you say your going on this in October 😁

I love it!!....but really miss the 'Please sit down' sign at the apex! X

I absolutely love it . Last year went on it for my 50th birthday. It had to be done as not been on since my early 20s . Love it love it so many childhood memories

2 grandsons on the scenic railway today they loved it

but its not 99 years old now

Big part of my childhood holidays!

Used to go here a lot when I was in my teens (now 36) can’t tell you the amount of times we got stuck on that πŸ˜† always loved it there tho.

Dreamlands Scenic Railway as most interested people know was re built in 2015/16 and because of certain health and safety requirements the height was changed. But the ride was first operated in Coney Island in New York in the early 1900’s and purchased by John Henry Iles in 1918 and stored on the land where the Turner Contemporary is now. Old photos of Margate show a Fun Park on that site including a swiichback ride, similar to the one at Ramsgate where the Marina Swimming Pool used to be.

This was the cheap as chips Friday evening...I love the scenic railway...first went on it 50 years ago when I was 4 πŸ˜†

Shame it was knocked down after the fire and rebuilt from scratch. Then all the cars had to be rebuilt which meant health and safety got involved and wrecked their design. The design might be 99 years old but the coaster sure as heck isn't.

We love it πŸ‘

Spent many a time on there 😁😁 happy days 😁

The original wooden roller coaster was installed at the Marine Palace in the 1890's and was destroyed when the marine Palace was. wrecked in the great storm of 1897.

Its all new wood well only 4 years old not 99 which is a complete lie. Oldest roller coaster in the country pmsl rebuilt in 2015

Love the old girl turns the big 100 next July

Shane it's never working when we go there. Kids were so excited to go on it

I remember it from the 60s when all you had holding you in place was a metal bar..... Non of this health and safety grap lol
