The multi-award-winning Blissfields have unveiled a brand new summer event. Blisscamp will see five stages of music and discovery, plus a one-of-a-kind burn spectacular, for a strictly 2,000 capacity crowd this July 5th to 8th in Hampshire.

Gold Panda will perform his first ever UK festival headline show, with Slamboree, Dub Pistols and many more live acts and DJs set to appear. Full line-up to be unveiled over the coming months.

A fire will burn in the middle of the four-night festival, building up to a fire show spectacular truly unlike any other, enveloping the heart of the Blisscamp arena. Around the fire and artist Q&As, storytelling and action camps will compliment The Outpost – our American desert-inspired main stage. Expand your mind among our tree-sized torches, and when the sun goes down dance the night away between the embers.

Spiralling outwards, The Bay will house a sandy installation programmed with an unforgettable summer party soundtrack. It’s a hangout to laze, haze and misbehave.

From the dust will rise The Arcade – Blissfields’ infamous dome reimagined for Blisscamp; roaring with neon abandon, and filled inside and out with light and energy. It’s a space to find perhaps your dizziest moments of Blisscamp with the biggest beats and carnival-like distraction.

Winner of the Association of Independent Festival’s “Most Unique Arena” award, The Hidden Hedge represents a twisted window into the soul of Blisscamp, replete with its now-trademark Boeing 747 cockpit, recently converted into an image-mapped video DJ booth. Tucked behind, a specially created campsite will allow the more adventurous attendees to party undisturbed, deep into the night.

Alongside Shambala, Blissfields / Blisscamp is one of only two UK festivals to have a zero waste to landfill claim, and this year will not be carrying any single-use plastic. Also new for Blisscamp, the arena and campsites will be joined: taking down the fences so attendees will be living and partying as one.

Debuts are significant experiences. Sharing the first-time butterflies with Blisscamp at its inaugural edition is Gold Panda, who will be celebrating an impressive milestone of his own at Vicarage Farm: his first-ever festival headline slot. It’s a perfect marriage; Gold Panda’s elegant, multi-generic electronic compositions distil so many aspects of Blisscamp’s central ethos – an unbridled spirit of adventure, a regard for influences from across the artistic spectrum, and an imitable ability to keep the party alive via unconventional means – into exhilarating, utterly original music. His most recent album, Good Luck and Do Your Best, was a landmark work, yet another stunning addition to a series of records that have been met by near-universal critical acclaim. This is shaping up to be quite the occasion.

Recently described as a mash up of Basement Jaxx and The Rocky Horror Picture Show performing at The Moulin Rouge, Slamboree are one-of-a-kind ensemble. The idea was hatched in the deepest darkest crevices of multi-award winning producer Mike Freear’s mind after working closely with vocal powerhouse and linguistic snake charmer Kathika Rabbit and guided by the tantalising visuals of theatrical artistic director Lizzie West. Slamboree is a collective of multi-skilled, revolutionary performers and musicians that put energy, passion and pure insanity into their unique and extravagant immersive stage experiences.

Acts like InsideInfo have been long-time favourites of the festival, so for the new Blisscamp adventure organisers wanted to go straight to the source and invite Viper Recordings to host a 12-hour drum & bass Saturday takeover. Since its inception, Viper Recordings has become a powerhouse in the scene and has been responsible for releasing some of the biggest dancefloor hits of the past decade.

They’ll be armed for a genre-defining onslaught with the likes of BMotion, Toronto Is Broken, Hillsdom, Loko, Aktive and Octo Pi, appearing in The Hidden Hedge – which won the Association of Independent Festivals Award for Most Unique Arena 2016.

For the first time Blissfields – is this confusing? – are excited to present its first ever Sunday lineup, curated by Dub Pistols. Dub Pistols have long since been friends of Blissfields, and for 2018 main man Barry Ashworth will curate a Sunday night closing party.

As well as headlining the evening, Ashworth has called in some serious party-minded heavy hitters including the legendary warehouse party pioneer Norman Jay MBE, who’s opening his bag of records for a vintage Sunday sunset session. Bliss favourites Too Many T’s return following appearances at some of the UK’s biggest festivals and supports with De La Soul and Public Enemy.

Kioko join the bill, having gained radio support from Huw Stephens’ show on BBC Radio 1, Huey Morgan’s show on BBC Radio 2, and BBC Radio 1Xtra. Finally, Skata Tones bring their high-octane fusion of ska, reggae, dub and dance sounds guaranteed to get Blisscampers jumping into the final hurrah of the festival.

Blisscamp are also proud to have Ghetto Funk running the show in The Arcade on Friday night. They’ll be bringing some incredible talent along with them in the shape of A Skillz, JFB, Featurecast and their very own Ghetto Funk Allstars, so be prepared to get sensationally sweaty.

Full weekend line-up of music and action camps to be released across Spring 2018. Tickets for Blisscamp are on sale now from: http://bit.ly/BlisscampTickets

“When there’s nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire”

Blissfields, the team behind Blisscamp, have enjoyed 17 years of hosting summer shows with groundbreaking performances from Sam Smith, Charli XCX, Clean Bandit and Years & Years to Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, Dizzee Rascal, The Horrors and Bastille. The festival saw the first festival headline performances from Everything Everything and Bastille, and so welcomes Gold Panda to share the same landmark career moment.

They’ve drunk ciders in the sunshine to Dub Pistols, woken up early for some Beans On Toast, ridden in hot air balloons, walked the trapeze, been in paint fights, dressed as animals, had tractor rides, travelled through time and put on the ultimate house party.

In Blisscamp they’re building you a “best of Blissfields” – a whole new adventure – the greatest hits boiled down into a thick syrup of adventure and massive beats, served to you in a broken disco ball and played out beneath its customary blanket of July sunshine.
