Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival news: Regular Belladrum favourites, the Highlands own Spring Break are set to release …

Latest update from Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival :

Regular Belladrum favourites, the Highlands own Spring Break are set to release their debut album ‘Tropicaledonia’ this Friday 13th April.

Formed at Belladrum 2014, the band described our own Joe Gibbs as their ‘hands off mid wife’.

Released on the 13th of April through all the usual online download and streaming services. Preorders available now from: www.springbreakscot.bandcamp.com/releases

Join us on a journey of ambitious diversity, exploring a broad palette of influences marinading in a melting pot of multiple genres. Jazz, folk, funk, soul and rock are woven into a rich tapestry of kaleidoscopic highland hip hop, awash with a summery haze of vintage sounds bound together by psychedelic silkworms and technological trickery.

For the last year the band have been working on their debut album Tropicaledonia; a fusion of many styles, drawing influence from a rich palette of folk, funk, blues and jazz whilst all the while steeped in the cut and paste traditions of hip hop. We hope the musical diversity of the record will appeal to a wide range of tastes as it draws from the varied backgrounds of all the band members and collaborators. Lyrically it’s a highland reportage on the human condition; detailing daily stresses, mental health, drinking culture and addiction, small town mentality, lampooning back stabbers and the foibles of the industry and pointing a clown gloved finger at toxic masculinity.

Live dates for 2018 include; 14th April – Album Launch party in Inverness, 1st June in Glasgow playing with the Twistettes in Machullis, 16th June at Wildwoodz festival, July 21st at Audiosoup festival, and August 31st at Lindisfarne Festival. More dates to be added as they come in.

***LOST & FOUND***

Bella is renowned for the number of couples who wed here. So we were pretty distressed to hear from Eric ‘Detector’ Soane that two wedding rings have turned up in his recent search of the grounds.
If you lost a wedding ring at Bella this year or in previous ones, send a description to:
claire@tartanheartfestival.co.uk
and if it fits, we will get in touch with you.

Eric also found two mortice lock keys and a cylinder lock key with a small padlock key attached. If you have a photo of a key you have lost that you can send, please send to the same address.

It would be great to return everything to their rightful owners!

Love,
Team Bella x

Eilidh Morrison Grace Bird - 7 gazebos!!

This is fantastic! So many people still deliberately trashing perfectly good stuff on Sunday morning & just walking away from it. I'd have happily carried it down to your collection point for them!

Great to see the items going to such a good cause. So pleased we took our tents there. Perhaps campers could be made more aware of this over the weekend as I just found out by chance.

What a great effort.. well done.

Aaron Weaver that’s so good 😁
