Back in July, we were exceptionally fortunate to have Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers close our 2017 event. This is truly a devastating loss to the music community and our thoughts are with his loved ones.
Rest in peace, Tom. We will miss you.

    I saw Tom back in 2014 while I was in Florida. He truly was one of a kind and it’s a huge loss to the music community. I didn’t think he would go this year and only recently played a huge 40th anniversary tour with The Heartbreakers.

  13. Real Shame, at a time when he was thinking about taking it easy to enjoy his retirement. Glad I had the chance to see him live at Hyde Park in the summer.

  17. I really regret not going only went to see Green day but was desperate to see Tom Petty. Grew up loving Free falling, into the great wide open and all his hits 😢 devastated

  20. We flew from NY and NC to see this show….everyone thought we were nuts. I was lucky enough to see the closing show of the tour a WEEK ago tonight. So hard to even wrap my head around.

  22. Saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers for the 1st time at Knebworth in 1978 and have been a fan ever since .So glad we got to see him this year in Hyde Park.
    Can’t quite believe the very sad news, RIP Tom

    Has he died? Thought that was an error in the report and that he’s still in hospital recovering from a cardiac arrest?

  24. Apparently he isn’t dead. He’s reported to be in ICU after suffering cardiac arrest.The police accidentally released he had passed away.
