Latest update from ArcTangent:
In case you missed it, we announced our first wave of acts for ArcTanGent 7 this morning, and we’re pretty proud of this lineup…
🎟 bit.ly/ATG_2019 🎟
Alex Henry Foster & The Long Shadows - Windows in the Sky! Saw them in Paris, my last show before the confinement...! I was blown away!!!
Flies Are Spies From Hell and Caspian for me.
Antethic - Mythographer, Coldbones- The Cataclysm, Elephant Tree - Habits, Ohhms - Close, Telepathy- Burn Embrace.
TWDY - Vespertine
Wake - Devouring Ruin Wren - GROUNDSWELLS Caspian - On Circles Although top two aren’t “pure” post rock 😁
A light in the dark. Insomnia
Telepathy - Burn Embrace 😍😍
Telepathy’s Burn Embrace, it must be!
I almost managed to whittle down my favourite post-rock releases from 2020 to five, but couldn’t quite do it, with two battling it out for the last spot. So...my SIX favourite post-rock releases from 2020! (And yes, I can’t quite believe that Long Distance Calling didn’t make my list, because they released a phenomenal album this year! Rest assured, they only just missed out...) 5=. Ajna 5=. Parachute For Gordo 4. Ghost Toast 3. VASA 2. hubris. 1. Asian Death Crustacean
Telepathy’s Burn Embrace. I loved their epic set at ATG in 2018 (?!)
Asian Death Crustacean - Baikal. Knocks the rest of ‘em out of the park, easily.
El Ten Eleven have released 3! They're ace.
In chronological order only..! Aiming for Enrike - Music For Working Out, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - X...., Caspian - On Circles, Envy - The Fallen Crimson, Vasa - Heroics, Maserati - Enter The Mirror, Vasudeva - Generator, Elephant Tree - Habits, Flies Are Spies From Hell - Final Quiet, Antethic - Mythographer, Luo - Unspoken, Parachute for Gordo - Best Understood by Children and Animals, Modern Rituals - This is the History, Ohhms - Close, A. A. Williams - Forever Blue, Phoxjaw - Royal Swan. Whilst few of these qualify for pure Post-Rock, they all have clear influences from that angle at the least. Fantastic year for music, if little else..
Alex Henry Foster & The Long Shadows - Windows In The Sky ❤️
All Shall Be Well (AASBWAAMOTSBW) and Flies Are Spies From Hell for me
Close between envy and Aesthesys - Alignments
Either Flies Are Spies From Hell or Long Distance Calling for me so far. And, I don't know if Elephant Tree counts or not. But if it does, that too.
"Seeds of Change" by Syberia. syberia.bandcamp.com/
That new Fall of Messiah sounds pretty great.
Envy - The Fallen Crimson
Not pure Post-Rock but Envy - The Fallen Crimson is class
Flies Are Spies From Hell - Final Quiet Caspian - On Circles Aiming for Enrique - Music For Working out
Windows in the Sky by Alex Henry Foster & The Long Shadows! Best gigs ever before lockdown!
Telepathy - Burn Embrace. Heavier than pure post rock but bloody amazing

I was trying to get maximum bang for my voucher buck when placing my order the other day, and I was definitely thinking 'mathcore has always been preparing me for this moment.'

The Dillinger Escape Plan!
Meshuggah. Blew my tiny mind.
Godspeed! You Black Emperor were a bit special.
Nordic Giants in 2013. I was wholly oblivious to them beforehand, then instantly and completely besotted. Probably the closest thing I've had to a religious experience. All praise is due to the random punter who helped me resolve the stage choice decision for that half-hour by saying 'they wear bird costumes'.
ASIWYFA, Giraffes? Giraffes!, Carpenter Brut and Scalping
I feel like this happens at least once a year
Meshuggah, ASIWYFA, Carpenter Brut and most of all, Bossk.
Jambinai 잠비나이, explosions in the sky, russian circles, ASIWYFA, and cult of luna ahah
Explosions in the sky, converge, god is an astronaut, arcane roots, leprous
Vennart 2015 when they played Build us a rocket then... I just turned to some guy who looked as shocked as me and went mental. I even took my ear pro out for that song.
Zeal and ardor in 2018. Alpha male cleft party. Dillinger escape plan...
Nordic Giants and VLMV...
Meshuggah 2019! I actually did a little cry afterwards ☺
A few sets last year but when the party kicked in for Carpenter Brut that was emotional
Tides of Man in 2018 was emotional as hell. Birds in Row last year too as I was in complete awe
Daughters 2019, The Contortionist 2019, Alcest 2018, Curse these Metal Hands’ first performance, La Dispute 2018, every Physics House Band set... to name a few, but I’m sure I could go on... Every year is magical!
I cried my fuckin eyes out after Caspian’s set last year! Too damn good.
Listener, Jambinai, Nordic Giants, Brutus, Deafheaven...that was a good year.
Cult of Luna.
Daughters and Nordic Giants last year And standards And sleep token Basically every set I watched
Cult Of Luna @ ATG2019
Three Trapped Tigers, Dillinger Escape Plan, Lite, Nordic Giants
Alcest and Møl in 2018, A.A.Williams, and Daughters in 2019.
2018; Foxing followed by Pianos Become The Teeth FOLLOWED by La Dispute. What an evening!
Jambinai - there were so many amazing sets at ATG over the years, but that's one I won't forget. First time I've seen them live (although I knew and loved their music) and have seen them live again many times since then.
