Andertons partners with Always the Sun for second year

Surrey boasts a wealth of local musical talent; from its rich cultural heritage nurturing bands like The Stranglers, to Reuben and Hundred Reasons. And Anderton’s wants to champion the new crop of emerging artists from the local area; and the tastemakers that celebrate them too.

They have been championing the rich musical heritage of Guildford, ever since their inception over 50 years ago. Lee Anderton said: “Andertons Music Co. is delighted to be supporting ATS in its second year. Last year was an extremely successful event, and an excellent experience for all of those in attendance. We very much enjoyed supporting some of the best local talent on the Andertons stage and the line-up for 2017 already looks fantastic. We can’t wait to be there again!”

From pop to progressive metal; The Andertons Stage gives leading Surrey tastemakers the chance to show off the best bands on their radar. Participating in curating the line-up this year are: Odyxxey, Rose Coloured Records, Quatre Femmes Records, Progressive Promotions, Lockjaw Records, Massive Promotions, Failure By Design Records, Modernism, M.R Events and The Project.

Playing the stage (in alphabetical order) are: ARK, Blood Honey, Burnz, CoCo Le Funk, Dead State, Drones, Drugstore Romeos, Eddie Piller, Elousive, Eschar, Fables, Gender Roles, Hanshotfirst, Heights, Hillsy, itoldyouiwouldeatyou, Looms, Lvpo, Maybe Not Today, Neil Barker, Nine Miles South, Paul Crouch, Shaun Hills, Sour Kix, Fleet Booze Hound Blues Band​, Throatpunch City, and Youth.

On Friday night, purveyors of the broad church of all things Mod; ModernisM open up the festival in style as DJs Eddie Piller, Neil Barker, Paul Crouch and Shaun Hills take to the decks spinning a mix of northern soul, funk and mod tunes to get the crowd rocking. Coco Le Funk will be getting us into the groove with their funky take on contemporary classics; and Woking’s Mod-influenced troubadours Birdsworth will be two-stepping the night away.
