Latest update from Africa Oye Festival

TOMORROW: As part of the Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia we are delighted to be co-presenting a screening of the incredible ‘They Will Have To Kill Us’ First at Picturehouse at FACT.

The groundbreaking film reveals how Islamic extremists have banned music in Mali and how its world-famous musicians won’t give up without a fight. They Will Have To Kill Us First tells the story of these brave artists and their battle for the right to sing.

One of the key groups featured in the film is desert blues foursome and Oye tour alumni, Songhoy Blues, who will headline Liverpool Psych Fest, which takes over Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle on 22nd & 23rd September.
