This March the amazing Lake of Stars festival comes to the UK! From the internationally renowned @[356889956151:274:Lake of Stars] stable comes Lake of Stars London! The exciting new festival will take place across E17, showcasing contemporary live music, DJs, poetry, film, theatre and art from the UK & African continent.

The daytime features free, family-friendly, drop in events across multiple venues, followed by an eclectic evening of live performances & collaborations at Walthamstow Assembly Hall (ticketed show). Featuring:

M.anifest (Ghana)
Frightened Rabbit (Scotland) (stripped back set)
Faith Mussa (Malawi)
Bongeziwe Mabandla (South Africa)
Wezi (Zambia)
Zathu (Malawi)

M.ANIFEST – Award-winning Ghanaian rapper and poet @[31776175788:274:M.anifest], described by the Guardian as “the foremost rapper on the continent”, is known for his multilingual wordplay that marries traditional African sounds with Hip Hop sensibilities.

FRIGHTENED RABBIT – Scottish indie favourites @[14771882081:274:Frightened Rabbit] will be performing fresh from a US and UK tour. The band have five albums under their belt with their last two hitting the top 20 in the UK album charts, receiving critical & commercial acclaim.

FAITH MUSSA – Malawi’s legendary @[340970376014086:274:Faith Mussa Official] will be showcasing his unique one-man-band set up, combining loop pedals with traditional Malawian instruments and sounds, following a successful 2017 Glastonbury Festival slot.

BONGEZIWE MABANDLA – Rising star of South Africa’s afro-folk music scene Bongeziwe Mabandla has the ability to effortlessly entwine English and Xhosa lyrics with traditional music and folk stylings to create something captivating.
