Africa Oye Festival news: 9 days to go!…

Latest update from Africa Oye Festival

9 days to go!

On both Saturday and Sunday join our community performers on the main stage for local African arts performances.

On Saturday we bring you Staged Kaos. This talented group of local children will make a welcome return to Africa Oyé with a performance involving singing, spoken word, drama and dance inspired by the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela!

The youth theatre work with young people, families and community to inspire positive development through the Creative and Performing Arts, producing inclusive educational workshops and events for everyone to enjoy, and providing opportunities for creative growth and social change.

Batala Mersey will take to the stage on Sunday bringing the rhythms of Afro-Brazilian samba to Sefton Park!
The upbeat and energetic community drumming band based in Liverpool were founded in 2015 and now has over 60 members. The line-up will feature dancing, spinning, throwing and jumping performed by a dynamic and passionate group of musicians.
