The Spooky Men’s Chorale

August 07, 2022

Join us at the Festival Arena Concert Tent for an evening concert with the Spooky Men’s Chorale; supported by Dan Walsh and Brook Williams 7 August 2022 7.30pm.
The Spooky Men’s Chorale is a vast, rumbling, steam powered and black clad behemoth, seemingly accidentally capable of rendering audiences moist eyed with mute appreciation or haplessly gurgling with merriment. Based on the twin pillars of grand foolishness and the quest for the perfect subwoofer-rattling boofchord, the Spooky Men seek to commentate on the absurdity and grandeur of the modern male armed only with their voices, a sly collection of hats and facial hair, and a twinkle in the eye. Men, Singing Songs. Some Of Them Are Funny.
Admired by both listeners and fellow musicians alike, Brooks Williams and Dan Walsh combine talents for an extraordinary collaboration of British and Americana roots music. Each is a leading light on their respective instruments and they both bring buckets of charisma and talent to the stage. Brooks Williams effortlessly combines old-time fingerpicking, country flat picking and bluesy backbeats guitar. BBC Folk Awards ‘Best Musician’ nominee Dan Walsh plays British, Irish and American folk music. His unique and dazzling take on clawhammer style banjo helping to challenge all preconceptions about the instrument. They will knock your socks off.
Friends of Folk Week priority booking is available till 13th February 2022.
Individual event tickets will be available for general booking from the 14 February 2022.
