The Gronthee International Poetry Festival

With a networking opportunity on 25 January 2019 at 7.30pm at Kobi Nazrul Centre (30 Hanbury Street E1 6QR – just drop -in if you want to join us there) this two-day free festival of international poetry has been organised by the Gronthee, a Bengali literary platform, in association with RadhaRaman Society, Arts4Democracy and eXXIled ART as an extended part of the exhibition Roots and Rifts.
The main festival will start on 26 January at Espacio Gellery and will end up there on 27 January 2019. The festival will bring some renowned contemporary poets from South Asian, Latin American, Persian, African as well as European backgrounds.
Curated by a Bengali poet Ahmed Kaysher and the editor of Gronthee poet Shamim Shahan, the festival features major works of both contemporary and ancient poets and rich tradition of global poetry through reading, talks and vocal music.
