Sounding at Celtic Connections: Modern Studies + Lomond Campbell

January 21, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

SOUNDING is a multimedia concert originally staged by Modern Studies, Lomond Campbell and the Pumpkinseed Chamber Orchestra at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

SOUNDING will return at Celtic Connections in Glasgow on 21st January 2018.

At SOUNDING, two of the most progressive and highly regarded new Scottish acts present their unique brand of pastoral and lyrical pop, enhanced by intricate arrangements played by renowned ten-piece string section the Pumpkinseeds, with brass and voices, in what promises to be a spectacle of contemporary indie talent.

After the success of their album Swell to Great (★★★★ MOJO, ★★★★ Scotsman, ★★★★ List), Modern Studies will play material from their ambitious sophomore LP (to be released on Fire Records in early 2018).

Lomond Campbell’s album Black River Promise (★★★★ Scotsman, ★★★★ Record Collector, ★★★★ List) will be presented in its entirety following the HEAVENLY RECORDINGS reissue in November 2017.
