After the success of our first year, RADAR Festival is back at Casino in Guildford for another THREE days of some of the world’s most loved and newest contemporary progressive rock and metal bands, playing across two stages with NO CLASHES.
Today, if things were back to normal, we would have been welcoming our wonderful community to our third edition of RADAR Festival. So it seems like the right moment for us to announce the first wave of artists for our second edition in 2022.
If you missed the news, we were delighted to announce that we are now going to be a three day event. That means more bands to watch, more hangs with friends and most importantly a bigger party to celebrate getting through the last couple of difficult years!
The dates of RADAR Festival 2022 are Friday 29, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July 2022.
This is the third time we have announced this edition of the festival, but since the pandemic, this is the most confident we have been that we’ll be going ahead. Technically, we could have put on RADAR 2021 this weekend, but we would not have had any international bands. None of us felt comfortable risking our customers, crew and artists’ health; nor did we want to risk the future of the festival in what can at best be described as fast changing circumstances.
As always with re-booking an event, circumstances change for artists -they have their own plans to adhere to. We have lost some acts from our previous announcements, but we have gained others.
If you have already purchased a ticket, firstly, we thank you! As we are adding a day, there is detailed information about your options at the end of this statement.
We’re beyond delighted to have retained Dirty Loops and Haken as two of our three headliners and we have another amazing headliner who will be announced later in the second wave of acts. Having had one or the other on the last announcements, we’re very happy to welcome both Plini and Intervals, alongside Humanity’s Last Breath, Hacktivist and returning from our 2019 event, some pew pew pew with Car Bomb!
Please see the poster for the full first wave of the lineup.
We’ve also been working on some after parties. There are three very contrasting acts that we can currently tell you about. The absolute GEEZERS, Pintglass will be taking over and causing some Stella infused mayhem. Heading over from Ireland we are welcoming the absolute lads, The Scratch, for some fast paced, trad Irish cheeky tunes and finally we have Ultimate Power, who will be bringing an evening of back-to-back-to-back-to-back power ballads!
We’ll be announcing the final wave of artists early 2022 with day splits announced at the same time.
RADAR Festival 2022 will again have masterclasses from wonderful musicians, fantastic food and some other fun things we’re cooking up at RADAR HQ.
During the two years since RADAR 2019, our friends who run our festival venue, Casino, have had a tough time and we wanted to take a moment to say how grateful we are for their continued support and cannot wait to be back in the space, marvelling at all their venue improvements (which look fantastic!).
Finally, your local music venue has opened up. If you feel comfortable, please support them. They are the lifeblood of live music. Everyone starts somewhere. Support your favourite festivals. Buy the band’s merch. Be kind to each other and if we don’t see you at a gig between now and RADAR 2.0, we’ll see you at the festival!
The festival now being a three day event, our weekend tickets have gone up in price to afford the extra artists, crew and associated costs of putting on a larger event.
If you are an existing customer, you have two options:
1 – You can upgrade your ticket to a three day pass.
All existing ticket holders will have an email from SeeTickets detailing exactly how this will work and simply involves clicking a link. Upgrades will be offered at a discounted rate to the weekend tickets as a gesture of thanks from us for sticking by us; it’s greatly appreciated.
We understand that some of you may want to hold off on your upgrade decision until we announce the last wave, so this option will remain valid until after that announcement, and you’ll receive a reminder if you haven’t made your decision then. We don’t want to put pressure on those that have supported us.
2 – If you no longer can or want to attend, you can refund your ticket (we understand). Simply contact SeeTickets and they’ll process it directly.
3. If you want to wait for day splits, these will be available early next year when we make our final announcement. There will be a limited amount for each day and you’ll be able to stay for that after-party too.
4. If you’d like to buy weekend tickets and don’t already have one – go for it!
5. If you would like to change your existing ticket to a day ticket after the final announcement, this will be a refund and a new purchase through See, who will happily deal with that for you.
