Knockengorroch World Ceilidh 2019

May 23, 2019 @ 10:00 am - May 27, 2019 @ 5:00 am

‘The people are amazing, the location is breathtaking, it’s not a rip off, the line up offers something for everyone and it’s truly relaxing – even with three kids and a dog.’

Six music and arts venues include the grand open Bo Airigh stage, crafted from local timber and turf roofed, with fantastic acoustics and the Shieling tent, the biggest of three dance tents, featuring live acts in the day and DJs until dawn.

The four day festival has been running since 1998. It remains a meeting point and a party for those who wish to celebrate great music in a fantastic place. A festival run by a family, for families, in the very broadest sense of the word, it attracts young and old to the banks of a glittering river in the hills, overlooked by the family’s cows. The experience offers a home away from home and a chance to really get away from it all. The festival attracts all kind of people from students to families and even older people who still love to party!

As well as music the festival features a children’s area and procession, creative, heritage and environmental workshops, a cinema, a sauna, a healing area, real ales and ciders, global shopping stalls, good food from around the world, several sessions areas, a lovingly restored Celtic Longhouse venue, outdoor swimming, fire shows, lights and art installations, dance, circus, comedy, spoken word, theatre, storytelling, puppets and lots more besides!

Advance 3 or 4 day tickets and vehicle passes are available now with concessionary prices for students, disabled and OAPs. Under 11 years go free and 11 to 16 year olds are half price. Dogs on leads with responsible dog owners are welcome.
