The world’s largest philosophy and music festival is coming to London in the summer of 2018.

You can feed your mind, body and soul at HowTheLightGetsIn.

For one weekend only, you’ll find the world’s leading thinkers debating today’s biggest ideas in the spectacular grounds of Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath.

The festival is packed with stimulating debates covering topics from politics, art, philosophy and science.

First speakers announced: these include psychologist Steven Pinker, author and playwright Deborah Levy, post-colonial theorist Homi Bhabha, activist and filmmaker Tariq Ali, philosopher Rebecca Goldstein, mathematician and Hawking collaborator Roger Penrose,  and many others

Alongside a range of debates, talks and workshops in London, there will be fantastic acoustic music acts making for a wonderful atmosphere at a beautiful location.

Great line up!

I'm surprised HTLGI are putting on music again this year. Let’s hope the event organisers learned a few lessons from last year and will be able to deal with the performers with a little more respect in 2019.

From Cleopatra to Beyonce women have used sexuality to increase their power and influence. But many feminists warn that it is undermining to be seen as a sex object and some in the #MeToo movement propose culture should be cleansed of such behaviour. Is sexuality a vehicle for power or for subservience? Should women use sexuality to conquer the world or are they only going to conquer the world by eradicating it?

So - was the photographer a woman? If so, then did she (the photographer) consider this an empowering pose? Or was she, the artiste, being exploited by a male photographer, who was looking at his own fantasy? And displaying his own power over her?

Oh lord, don’t bring the Queen into this 👑
