A little more about the choirs:
KINGS PLACE CHOIR:
Kings Place is one of Europe’s leading cultural hubs. Kings Place Choir was set up to involve and encourage the ever changing community on Kings Cross to engage with the fabulous music scene happening there. The choir have gone from strength to strength, performing at local events, recording for theUnicef ‘Happy Blue Year’ Campaign and filming at venues like The Renaissance Hotel and Central St Martins Granary Sq.
Choir Baby is a community choir for folks with wee ones. Singing in a choir is a wonderfully invigorating way to let off steam and Choir Baby helps it’s members to connect with other parents and the local community…whilst inspiring and entertaining the babies and toddlers.
Choir Baby performs regularly, from The Southbank to Christmas fairs, they have even recorded new material at the legendary Abbey Rd Studios.
GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL STAFF AND PARENT CHOIR
Great Ormond Street Hospital Staff and Parent Choir is a relaxed and informal group who sing every Wednesday in the Hospital’s Chapel. Singing can help lower levels of cortisol and increase levels of oxytocin helping you feel more relaxed and less stressed, which is important when working or living in a high pressure environment such as a hospital.
The choir is also an important part of GOSH Arts’ cultural offer for staff. When cultural needs are supported there is evidence to suggest clinical staff can be more efficient in their roles and more able to care for patients effectively.
