Belle & Sebastian will be embarking on two extensive UK and European headline tours beginning in January of next year. The band’s first live appearances since 2019 will kick off in Aberdeen on January 31st, followed by a run of dates across the UK that culminate in a two-night residency at The Roundhouse in London. They begin the European leg of the tour on April 11th in Munich and will play shows in Italy, France, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Scandinavia, before concluding in Brussels on April 29th. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
Last December, Belle and Sebastian released What to Look for in Summer, a live double album gathering choice selections from the band’s 2019 world tour, including their epic Boaty Weekender cruise. It was described by MOJO as “… a snapshot in time
(…) a formerly reticent live band finding real joy on-stage, whether it’s taking pot-shots at Boris Johnson on ‘Step Into My Office Baby’, Sarah Martin standing in for Norah Jones on ‘Little Lou, Ugly Jack, Prophet John’, or the impossibly genial Stuart Murdoch exuding wry warmth”. The Independent wrote, “their back catalogue has both recognisable hits for casual listeners and more obscure fare beloved by diehard fans. They’re also renowned for their magnetic live performances – a rousing energy that they successfully translate on to the 23-track What to Look for in Summer”
