There’s a controlled fury to The Wood Burning Savages that reflects their passionate approach to live performance.
‘We’re from Derry – that’s somewhere in the 16th Century’, quips frontman Paul Connolly, as the band round off their mammoth European tour as support for Skinny Lister.
Tonight the Electric Ballroom is set to be rammed – and enough people have got the message about the quality of both support acts to ensure that the Savages are playing to a pretty full room.
And deservedly so, because this isn’t your typical guitar rock band – they have that undefinable quality that sets them apart and should – by rights – see them hitting some pretty big festival main stages over the next few years.
