Marie was one of the few artists modest enough to not even submit a public track to the original longslist of acts who were hand picked by the movers and shakers in the taste-making music blogging fraternity who were tasked with whittling down thousands of hopefuls to a few challengers.
She was one of two acts hailing from Hastings who made the longslist – but whilst her neighbours Kid Kapichi didn’t feature in the finals at Pilton Village Hall tonight they are busy ploughing their own furrow to the top having just been named as ‘Hottest Recod in the World’ on Radio 1.
Marie is a natural talent and a deserved victor who will undoubtedly go on to become a household name with her perfect combination of beautifully crafted songs delivered with honesty and passion.
