Glastonbury Festival news: Arcadia Reach – Sierra Leone Well Drilling Project

Latest update from Glastonbury Festival

Today we launch one of our most important missions and we need your help.

Our non-profit arm, Arcadia Reach CIC is building a well drilling rig for rural Sierra Leone where safe water is dangerously scarce.

The new technology can put in wells at 30 times the current rate. It will be fitted to a 4×4 truck to reach villages where there are no roads and help kick start a sustainable cycle of agriculture in partnership with local charity, Rory’s Well.

In Sierra Leone, the average life expectancy is 40 due to unsafe drinking water, inadequate sanitation and food insecurity. Child mortality rates remain in the top 10 globally, and a strong foundation is urgently needed for independent economic development.

We're so proud of our wider community and are asking everyone to extend their support to this life-giving project.
