Iggy Pop will duet with Shatner on ‘Silent Night’

William Shatner will release his very first Christmas album, ‘Shatner Claus – The Christmas Album’, in October.

First announced last month, it’s only now been revealed that a wide range of stars have been brought in for the album, including Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Judy Collins and more.

The cover art for Shatner’s Christmas project was released back in August – see it below.

Iggy Pop will feature on a duet of ‘Silent Night’, while Henry Rollins has collaborated with Shatner on a version of ‘Jingle Bells’ – which you can listen to here:

The album, set for release on October 26, is the third release from Cleopatra Records after Shatner released a David Bowie covers album, ‘Seeking Major Tom’, in 2011 and a prog-rock concept album, ‘Ponder the Mystery’, in 2013.

Shatner’s most recent album, ‘Why Not Me?’ a country collaboration with Alabama’s Jeff Cook, was released in August.

Also in August, Shatner joined the call for Carrie Fisher to gain a Walk of Fame Star with a tweet aimed at the official Star Wars page. His comments garnered widespread support from Star Wars fans from around the world.
