It’s Marvel movie festival for the MCU’s 10th anniversary
Marvel Studios have announced a film festival in association with IMAX to celebrate the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 10th anniversary.
The festival will see all 20 titles from the MCU re-released in large-format in select IMAX cinemas between August 30 and September 6.
Three Marvel films have never been presented in Imax format, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Captain America: The First Avenger. These films along with the 17 remaining will be dhows in their release order, followed by two days of the festival focusing on “team-ups” and origin stories.
Speaking on the film festival, Marvel president Kevin Feige said: “We knew we wanted to go big to celebrate 10 years of Marvel Studios, and you can’t get any bigger than Imax,”
“This is an incredible celebration for fans. They will be able to see all of Marvel Studios’ films back-to-back and really be immersed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most iconic lines was improvised by Robert Downey Jr.
Kevin Feige said Downey’s famous line – “I am Iron Man” – was ab-libbed when the first film in the franchise was released ten years ago.
Marvel released Iron Man ten years ago on May 2, 2008, launching Marvel as a studio. The film grossed $585 million on it’s release.
This year, Marvel’s blockbusters Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp have earned $3.7 billion worldwide.
