Killswitch Engage have reunited with former singer Howard Jones for an upcoming new track.
Jones was frontman of the metalcore outfit from 2002–2012, with original vocalist Jesse Leach returning when Jones left the group due to health issues.
This week has seen Leach share a photo of himself with Jones and guitarist Adam D, saying in an Instagram caption that “this dude was in the neighbourhood, so I figured hey let’s get him to lay down some stuff for a thing”.
“He did,” Leach added, “and it is going to be EPIC!”.
In a separate post, Leach shared a short clip of himself lip-syncing to Jones’ vocals, saying that he had a “great day talking mental health” with Jones.
“Today was epic, it was HUGE for the legacy of Killswitch,” Leach wrote, “It was fun and it felt like what we were doing was important. I plan on using this song to help continue to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Both Howard and I have a very strong outspoken stance on the subject and I will use this to help with the cause!”
Killswitch Engage are currently working on their follow up to 2016’s Incarnate, what will be their eighth album to date.
“We’re just working as fast as we can to get it wrapped up,” Leach recently told Loudwire. “We’ve got about 20 songs to choose from. We’re ready to crank out a record in the next 6-7 months, hopefully, and get that thing done.”
