A new documentary has revealed how the new Apple ad – directed by Spike Jonze, starring FKA Twigs and featuring a new Anderson .Paak track – came together.
The clip shows everything from how Twigs got the part, to how the choreography came together, to the incredible real-world effects used to create the mutating set. “It’s like a magic trick,”says cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, who worked on Dunkirk.
The clip marks one of Twigs’ biggest returns to date, after previously releasing her entire online archive of work to date in 2016.
FKA Twigs teamed up with International Magic and British artist Matthew Stone for the website fkatwi.gs. She shared the archive via her Instagram account. “Excited to share my new site with you and to have one place where all my work is archived, to discover unseen work and join the dots between the projects I’ve made,” she wrote on Instagram. “This is a creative project in itself so please explore.”
Hailing his performance, our official verdict stated: “his infectious energy made light work of the sun-dabbled, party-ready crowd.”
