More details has been revealed about Ant-Man and The Wasp, and it seems like it could have huge implications for the future of the MCU.
Specifically, it’s the customary post-credits sequence that proves unexpectedly revelatory – and it reportedly left US audiences gasping when it was released earlier this month.
In the sequence, Scott Lang takes on his Ant-Man alter ego in order to visit the Quantum Realm for reasons that become clear earlier in the film.
But while Hank Pym is waiting outside a transporter with Hope and Janet van Dyne to bring him back, things don’t quite go to plan.
As Lang uses his communicator to tell them he’s ready to return, he discovers that the device has gone dead – and there’s no one available to heed his request.
It’s at this point that the camera cuts back to where Hank, Hope and Barbara were and we see they’ve turned to dust.
Sound familiar? It’s likely that they’ve faced the wrath of Thanos, just like half the population at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.
In short, it means that Ant-Man is trapped in the Quantum Realm as Avengers 4 rolls around – and we could facing the end of some of the film’s stand-out characters.
That said, it’s worth noting that Ant-Man is *still* technically alive, so perhaps he could still return from the Quantum Realm and unleash some righteous justice on Thanos’ big purple bonce.
Either way, Ant-Man and The Wasp is out in UK cinemas this Friday – so you can check it for yourself then.
