NASS builds the hype with exclusive headline announcement

The South West’s big action, sports, and music extravaganza, NASS will get a little taste of the US East Coast as Method Man and Redman are set to make their only UK appearance of 2017.

They will headline alongside Kano and Pendulum at the four-day event that runs from 6-9 July, just a few miles from Bristol, the UK’s (un)official alternative capital of street and skate culture.

Also announced today are GIGGS, two Croydon (home of dubstep and grime) acts, newcomer Loyle Carner, and MOBO stars Krept and Konan, and Radio 1’s own Charlie Sloth.

Method Man, a former member of Wu-Tang Clan and Redman, formerly of Def Squad, released their landmark debut album Blackout! in 1999, earning a huge cult following in music and film before following it up 10 years later with Blackout! 2.

GIGGS joins the line-up after his latest album ‘Landlord’, dropped in August last year. Debuting at number two in the album charts, GIGGS is undoubtedly one of the most influential rappers to come out of the UK.

New kid on the block, Loyle Carner, is becoming one of the names to look out for on this year’s festival circuit, and his lyrical dexterity is earning him new fans by the thousand. The south London rapper released his highly acclaimed debut album ‘Yesterday’s Gone’ in January to outstanding reviews. His hometown brethren, multi-award winning Krept and Konan, are also set to blow away the NASS stage, whilst Radio 1’s Charlie Sloth will light a fire in the showground with a DJ set of ultimate bangers.

Further names include High Contrast, Kiko Bun, DJ Hype, Baseline Smith, Ivy Lab, Mollie Collins, IC3, Crisis, Youngman and Chunky.

Toddla T brings the Toddla T Carnival featuring DRS, Ms Banks, Steflon Don, Coco, Roska, Jus Now, Cadenza and DJ Target.

International athletes from the world of Skate and BMX will compete over the weekend for bragging rights and world titles. The event will feature a 15ft Vert Ramp, the tallest in Europe as well as a pro park, dirt jumps, street sports and public courses and ramps.

Street artists will paint across the festival, completing a unique weekend where the energy of action sports collides with night time revelry. Further acts will be announced soon. Stay tuned for more details.
