Community – a guitar-driven new fest for Finsbury Park

Community is a new one-day festival in Finsbury Park, and with Slaves, Catfish and the Bottlemen and The Wombats heading the bill it’s set to be a cracker. Community takes place on Saturday 1 July, and tickets are priced very fairly at just £35. The Festival Republic team are behind the new venure, and FR head-honcho, Melvin Benn, said: “Finsbury Park has been a real hub for live music for many decades, so we can’t think of anywhere better to launch a new music festival in London.” Catfish and the Bottlemen head out across the Atlantic shortly after appearing at Community to embark on a two month stadium tour of America alongside San Francisco legends Green Day (who may – […]

From the BBC article: A previous version of this story mistakenly said Ed Sheeran and Green Day have also been confirmed. This is an error and was not based on any official sources. As Green Day are playing Germany on the Friday and Saturday – and as the Foos are announced for Saturday – it doesn’t take a genius to work out the rest. We like to think there are some very red faces at the Beeb right now and that Michael and Emily […]

Announcing the UK’s newest music city – Hastings & Rother

Hastings is a town with, arguably, one of the highest venues per capita in the UK. There are approaching 100 pubs, bars, dedicated venues and open performance spaces within just a few miles of the newly refurbished pier. And, by teaming up, these two powerhouses of grass roots music have planted a flag in the map and unilaterally pronounced themselves to be a ‘music city’. It’s not the first time this tag-team has been in the ring together. A few years ago they put in a joint bid to become the UK city of culture. Sadly the […]
